Founded by Rhea Scott in 1998, Little Minx fosters the growth of outstanding filmmakers who innovate with both creativity and intelligence. As a certified woman-owned production company, we have embraced diversity in our roster, crews, and staff for 22 years. This philosophy of inclusion is more than our mantra—it’s our mission. It’s the reason the company was founded, and it remains the most essential part of everything we do.
Gareth Jackson and Mark Karinja have been shooting together since they met at the start of their careers. Jackson was born in Ecuador and grew up in a small town on the west coast of Mexico, while Karinja hails from the wilds of New Jersey. Although they grew up a few miles apart, they both got their start shooting skate and surf videos as kids, which has influenced their style ever since.
After meeting in film crews in New York City at a young age, Jackson and Karinja each established themselves as cinematographers, often collaborating and helping each other out. In 2008, they officially teamed up as a directing / cinematography duo + jacksonkarinja and became known for their soulful storytelling captured with dynamic composition (which is a fancy way of saying they enjoy shooting from skateboards, motorcycles, strapping themselves to the roof of a car with a camera, etc.) They still shoot their own films and always look to bring their unique perspective and aesthetic to all of their work.
Jackson and Karinja love what they do because of the talented people they get to work with. The + in their name stands for all of the awesome people without whom their films would not be possible. It's everyone it takes to make a film + jacksonkarinja.
